Xiamen Glutinous Rice Dumpling is a time-honored specialty which is sweet, tender, mild and delicate. In shining reddish yellow, it generally consists of mushroom, shrimp, chestnut, pork and glutinous rice. The wrapped dumplings are cooked in boiled water and served with satay sauce, mashed garlic, chili sauce or seasoning soy sauce to get even better taste. Glutinous Rice Dumplings are supposed to be eaten when they are hot, or the taste will be compromised a lot. This is why it is called Shao (hot) Rou Zong in Chinese.
